Verliefdheid by Jordy van Loon

This has been a busy year for 15 year old Jordy van Loon. He appeared on a popular Dutch tv show in April and impressed the host and audience. He began to get contract offers from record labels and signed with one of them. He went on to record an album and a music video. He also appeared in more tv shows.

All of that hard work is paying off and his popularity is growing. Last week “Verliefdheid” was #100 on dutchcharts.nl this week it’s at #81!

I discovered Jordy when I browsed the new listings at BCSD. I followed the link to his website and eventually watched the Verliefdheid video. I immediately liked the song and played it several times as I looked for more information about Jordy. As I watched videos and read translated blog posts about Jordy I found myself getting caught up in his story.

Jordy is just an ordinary kid who can sing, but he recognized his talent, and worked hard to develop it. He is a natural entertainer who can make people laugh. It won’t be long until a song of his hits #1.

Shut Up! by Oliver

The Junior Eurovision Song Contest takes place tomorrow and I think Oliver has the best chance of winning it. Oliver is a good singer and musician and it shows in this song. Furthermore, many people will find the song’s pop style appealing even if they don’t understand the lyrics.

I like this song and can’t wait for the English version.

Oliver has been videoblogging from Cyprus in Dutch and English.

Update: Download the English version of Shut Up!
